Today was amazing! We climbed up to Sawtooth Lake way up in the Sawtooth Mountain range. The hike was over 10 miles round trip, and took us about 7 hrs to complete. At our highest point, we reached around 8500 ft elevation - the air was quite thin and it definitely got harder to breathe as we reached the lake.
There was still tons of snow on the mountain and we crossed several streams formed from the melting snow. It was crazy to be treading snow in the 80 degree sun! Snowball fights are much more enjoyable in July!
After arriving back home we are completely wiped out from the hard day - but it was worth it! We relaxed to a home-cooked italian dinner (courtesy of head chef Mike). Homemade meat sauce with italian sausage! yumm.
