Breathing the Mountain Air

Day 2 in Idaho:
The wedding day! Everything was so beautiful - a gorgeous wedding and what a backdrop of the lake and the mountains!

Day 3:
We went to Camp Perkins in the morning for brunch and then hiked around the lake for awhile. Then we drove into town to do some grocery shopping and on the way stopped at Gelena Pass - a beautiful lookout.

Day 4:
We woke up early to do some horseback riding in the mountains. This was awesome because we saw some amazing views without having to do any heavy hiking. In the afternoon we went for a short hike around Yellow Belly Lake. This was a pretty easy hike, but there were a lot of large clearings in the forest which made for a very hot hike in the midday sun. In the evening, the whole gang came over to the cabin for a party, and we found out that evening that my grandfather had passed away back home in michigan. It is hard for us to be away right now, but we were among family and good friends for the evening to share the burden. We are still going to stay through the end of the week and go back to Michigan for the funeral on Monday and Tuesday.

Day 5:
Today we woke up early for a nice hike along Fishhook Creek Trail. This trail had some beautiful views for being such an easy hike. The hike ended in a meadow with a gorgeous view of the mountains.

Tomorrow we are planning a long day hike on some trails where we will actually be high enough to see some snow. Apprently right now the snow is melting and there is still some ice on the lakes so it is quite the thing to see. We are having a wonderful time here and as you can see the views are just breathtaking. John is out fly fishing with my Dad right now, trying to catch some trout - I hope he comes home with dinner!!!

Hi Kelly and John!

Whoa! The last time I took a peak here, nothing was happening! But now! Wow! Busy writing bees!

Those pictures from Idaho are GOREGOUS btw! I was in Denver in July for a book publishing program and those mountains are just amazing! ~Anne Z.

This week I'm off to NYC again for some book publishing interviews. I
*really* hope I get something. I *hate* being un-employed!
