Getting our move on!

We have had a whirlwind of a summer! So much has happened in the last few months, but here's a recap:

1) We moved!

We said goodbye to St. Louis and hello to Howell, MI. We seriously miss all of our friends in St. Louis, but are starting to make some new ones here too. :)

2) We bought a house!

Honestly this is still quite unbelievable to us. We put an offer on our home after having our family see it, but had not seen it ourselves until the process was well under way. God has provided because this is the perfect home for us. We are slowly making it our own, and getting used to all of the extra work that accompanies home ownership!

3) John is ordained!

Say hello to Pastor John Hile, associate pastor at Heart of the Shepherd! We were incredibly overwhelmed at all of the love and support we received from our friends, family, and new church family during John's ordination.  Since starting work at the end of June, John is staying busy and enjoying his new position!

4) Vera can crawl, clap, stand by herself, walk around furniture, climb the stairs, feed herself, bite (with 2 teeth), give high fives, tease, open cupboards, drawers, and of course boxes (she likes to help unpack the boxes…. And the cupboards… and the drawers! But then repack them, too) We are amazed at how much she has grown up in these last couple of months - we are enjoying this age, especially as we start to see her little personality. She is a goof like daddy and focused like mommy, and has some qualities that are definitely all her own.

5) I quit!

I have officially ended my employment with Boeing and am now a stay at home mommy full time. I am loving every minute with Vera, and haven't looked back! There might be opportunities for me to do some contract work in the future, which would really help out financially for us, but for now we are liking this chance to truly appreciate the simple things in life.
