One of the perks of living in St. Louis is that there are all kinds of free things to do in the summer, including pitching up some lawn chairs, spreading out some blankets, opening up some coolers, and listening to the rythmic sounds of Old English against a midsummer night's breeze.
Strangley enough, I had never seen Hamlet. Ever. I think most of my English teachers throughout the years, including the professor in my Shakespeare's Plays class, tried to avoid teaching the more famous plays in their classes, with the ironic result that I have read and watched all kinds of obscure Shakespeare plays without once coming across the sad Danish prince.
Fortunately, it didn't disappoint. And after hauling a 50-pound shoulder-strap cooler a half-mile from the closest parking spot I could find, neither did the food.

Looks like you had a ton of fun!
Someday I'm going to go see Shak. in the Park....I've heard so many great things!
PS. You're not alone...I've seen/ read several S plays but never Hamlet.
I took a Shakespeare class in college and read all kinds of his plays, but also never read Hamlet since the professor assumed that we had all read it already. Funny, huh?
Carrying that cooler is good practice for all the baby gear you will need to carry around soon!
