Smoky Mountains here we come!

In gearing up for our vacation to the Smoky Mountains next week, we decided to take on a 5.3 mile hike along the bluffs of the Missouri River. Unfortunately (or stupidly), we didn't get out to the trailhead until 7pm. It soon became a race against the sun - we could only hope that we wouldn't go down first.

Due to the 92 degree heat and 80% humidity, we were pretty exhausted by the time we got to the first good lookout. About a half hour later, we were wondering if we were even going the right direction when we came into a foggy clearing above a mysterious stream and saw four white-tail deer frolicking around right in front of us.

When we woke up the next morning, we wondered if it was all a dream. But then we found this picture on our camera. Suspiciously, the deer are not in the picture.

But we swear they were there!
