Signs of Spring

A few things need to happen before we finally consider it to be spring. First there must be flowers! Grandma's flowers to be exact, which I happen to have right out my back door!



Secondly, and *most* importantly, my birthday! It's going well so far since its a wonderful spring day today and I woke up to a birthday package on my doorstep from Mom & Dad!

Last night we went out with our friends Todd & Kelly, and they brought along a lovely birthday poem written just for me!!! Todd was very excited because it was written in a-a-b-b-a style. John was also very excited to point out that this was properly called "limerick" style. (Todd and John make very good friends)

Here is the artistically flawless poem:

A Birthday Eve Poem

There once was a girl named Kelly,
who never ate strawberry jelly. (not true)
She drank "sangria" all day,
no matter what you'd say (also not true)
'til it gave her an ache in her belly.

Kelly's a girl who's full of pizazz.
She loves music and all that jazz!
She's great in a band,
can probably do a handstand, (not true!)
Is unfamiliar with Jason Mraz (somewhat true)

Kelly works for a place called Boeing,
which is not in the business of towing.
She isn't no fool!
She works hard in school.
In Michigan sometimes it's snowing.
